The finnish film music composer studied classical composing and continues to make music for both cinema and concert audiences. He has scored orchestral film music for over 40 feature films as “Mongol”, “Mindhunters” and “The legend of Hercules”. Tuomas has also composed an opera, several concertos and two ballets: "The Snow Queen" and "The Little Mermaid", both commissioned by the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. His next classical work will be an opera about Mannerheim for the Ilmajoki Music Festival, to premiere in 2017 - the hundredth anniversary of Finland as an independent republic. In the workshop he will give an insight into the thoughts behind his compositions, demonstrate the advantages of his classical training with practical examples and show the multi-faceted beauty of orchestral works.
