All the composers, which are in the centre of Theme Day Music in Movies on the 26th of August, are confirmed: It’s Ilan Eshkeri („Still Alice“, „Kick-Ass“, „Shaun – the Sheep“), Cliff Martinez („Drive“, Sex, Lies, and Videotape), Jasmin Reuter and her director Anne Zohra Berrached („24 Weeks“) as well as Oscar nominated Gary Yershon („Happy-Go-Lucky“, "Mr.Turner").

SoundTrack_Cologne dedicates each of those four composers a workshop discussion in which they will present their projects, open up an insight into their working structures and where they will be available for questions of the audience.

His carreer spans 40 years and spreads from Film and Television to Radio and Theatre. Composer Gary Yershon’s movie work has been for director Mike Leigh. These include scores for Happy-Go-Lucky and Another Year. His score for Mr. Turner, a movie about landscape painter Wiliam Turner, even brought him a nomination for the Academy Awards. He is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and worked for Broadway and West End Productions.

BAFTA Award winner and honoured as best composer at this years filmscore film festival of Cannes Cliff Martinez will give an insight in his different projects and personal working structure. Once he lead the beat as the drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Nowadays he is firmly established in the filmscore business as composer for many Steven Soderbergh movies (e.g. Traffic, Solaris, The Limey) or highly praised Independent Thriller like "Drive" with Ryan Gosling or „The Lincoln Lawyer“ starring Matthew McConaughey. But also Harmony Korine with „Springbreakers“ counted on Cliff Martinez, who stands for a percussive electronical sound.

The third workshop duscussion focusses on the teamwork of director Anne Zohra Berrached und composer Jasmin Reuter for the movie „24 Weeks“. It is a story about the polarizing topic of late-term abortion, which is told musically by Jasmin reuters filmscoring. „24 Weeks“ was selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. Anne Zohra Berrached and Jasmin Reuter also cooperated for the movie „Two Mothers“, winner of "Dialogue en Perspective" at Berlin International Film Festival 2013.

Ilan Eshkeri has long been established as a composer in Hollywood. In 2007 he won the International Film Music Critics Award as Breakthrough Film Composer Of The Year. For his scoring work in the movie „Stardust“ Eshkeri got nominated for the BAFTA Award. By composing for movies as Kick Ass, The Invisible Woman, 47 Ronin and Oscar nominated „Still Alice“ he cooperated with stars like Ralph Fiennes, Julianne Moore and Keanu Reeves. As a thoroughbred musician he feels home in the music business in generell and worked with Tom Odell, The Kaiser Chiefs, Annie Lennox and KT Tunstall.
